Today is the Day

Every morning we wake up to another day and with that day comes new opportunities, new challenges. It is our ability to grasp these opportunities and overcome these challenges that truly defines our lives. I have heard people say that life is short. Life isn't short if you don't want it to be. It can be long and full of amazing experiences that make up who we are as a person. It is all about your perception and attitude. Nothing is impossible and if you think something is impossible, then you have already lost half of the battle.

I truly believe that hope is the most powerful tool that we have as human beings. Hope is what gets us up in the morning. The hope that a new opportunity is right around the corner or a new challenge just waiting to be conquered. This is truly living. So I challenge everyone that reads this to create a new opportunity in your life and then conquer every challenge that this new opportunity throws your way. Then you will truly be alive.

Take a chance, do something that you wouldn't usually do. At the end of the day it is our experiences that make us who we are. Quit playing it safe. Safe never got anyone anywhere except the middle of the road. The harsh truth is that if you are waiting for someone else to make your life for you, you are wasting time. If you think about the great men in history, they each made their own life. They had conviction, they made their own luck and they didn't take no for an answer. They tried different paths, they took risks and greatest of all they failed and made mistakes, then learned from these mistakes. Then they made more mistakes and learned again. Then they triumphed and all those failures paved the way.

My father always talks about finding your niche in life. I thought about this for a long time. Wondering what my niche is and how I would ever find it. I was overcome with fear thinking that I might never find my niche. Then I realized the only way to find it, is by experience.

If you want a challenge, if you want to find your niche. If you want to make your own opportunities, comment on this blog and I can give you an opportunity. It doesn't matter where you are Legacy Tree Books can provide this. This project has the ability to change the world and it is happening right now! Become a part of it today and don't let this opportunity slip by. TAKE A CHANCE! You just might find what you were truly meant to do in life.

What is Really Real?

Brad Pitt sucks in Killing Them Softly.  Dumb, violent story.  And I'll bet you went crazy over it.  Most of you wouldn't know a good story if it whispered in your ear.  Fact is: that whisper in your ear is probably some friend shooting you lies about someone he thinks he knows, hyping their exploits to impress you into thinking he is close to someone doing something amazing.  Ever fact check gossip?  Chances are the real story behind that gossip is better than Killing Them Softly, better than the hype you were just fed.  At least the real story is real.  That's what makes a story interesting.  The fact that it is real. And the fact that it happened close to you. Check the facts on that local story.  Maybe write a book.  Contact us.  We'll publish your book.

Success Next Door

It is truly amazing to me how little the people across Indiana and the U.S actually know about their neighbors. It also amazes me that with the exception of the very few celebrities who are nationally recognized so few of us are aware of the successful people in our own community. You do not have to be Lebron James or Brad Pitt to be considered successful. There are plenty of good, hard working people across Indiana that have given their heart and soul to their career and community, yet Paris Hilton's charades get national notoriety. What about the local sheriff of a small Indiana town that has given his life to protecting the community and keeping it's people safe. Where is the front page story on those people? Instead of recognizing the people that do some good in the world, we are more interested in the hot new romance in Hollywood or who wore what at some red carpet event. It just seems backwards to me and sadly this is the way that society has become. I wish that I could tell you that this will someday change and maybe it will, but I know that if we all do our part in spreading the news that really matters, the stories that we want future generations to know about, then we can end this epidemic of shallowness. This is exactly what we are trying to do here at Legacy Tree Books with the Indiana Biography Project. Our goal is to tell the story of that local sheriff, to preserve the legacy of that Indiana farmer that broke his back everyday in that field to feed this county. Tell of the doctor that put themselves through school and brought revolutionary medical treatment back to their hometown. We want to preserve the legacy of your finest neighbors. The ones that you had no idea went and fought for their country and came home to start a business and give back to their community. These are the stories that we are looking for and we intend on telling them. Not only to preserve the legacy of an individual that actually deserves to have their legacy preserved, but also to let future generations know that it is okay to aspire to be a hard working, caring individual. We want our kids and grandchildren to grow up in a world where the stories that are told are the stories of true heroes that persevered through all challenges.
Imagine a child going to a library and picking up one of these stories of a local person that believed in themselves and achieved their goals in a trade that will someday be doable for that child. Whether it be farming, medicine, law enforcement, etc,. That child now has HOPE and hope is the greatest gift that you can give in life. It is for exactly this reason, that we not only plan on writing these books about these individuals but we also donate copies of every Legacy Tree Biography to local libraries, schools, and historical societies.
It is our belief that if we can get these books into the hands of young people, then we can give the gift of inspiration. If we can give that gift to only one child and change their life forever, then we have accomplished what we set out to do. Check us out on Facebook and Twitter. Also check out legacytreebooks.com
